MATRIX BODY-PLY IMPROVE STEERING STABILITY
The angular layer is close to the tread. Circumferential rigidity is improved through a double structure that spans the tire from sidewall to shoulder, improving steering precision without diminishing ride comfort. It also improves dry grip by maintaining contact with the road surface.
MATRIX BODY-PLY: ANTI-TWISTING
Matrix Body-Ply: High lateral rigidity allows the tread and bead to roll without deflection, giving quick and precise steering response.
Conventional Construction: If lateral stiffness is low, the tire distorts, delaying the reaction between the tread and bead, and reducing steering precision.
ASYMMETRIC PATTERN REINFORCES WET AND DRY PERFORMANCE
Three very thick grooves and one thinner groove make up the special asymmetrical and non-directional tread pattern. Developed jointly with a major European car manufacturer, this pattern strengthens grip in both dry and wet conditions. The block area on the outer side is wider to improve dry performance, while the groove area is increased on the inner side to maximize wet performance.
OPTIMIZED CONTACT AREA RESULTS IN A VERY POWERFUL GRIP
To achieve a powerful grip, designers optimized and expanded the contact surface and added large blocks and oversized grooves. To further improve performance on wet surfaces, the main groove is kept on the center line of the contact surface when turning. This arrangement has superior water shedding characteristics when cornering.
